Jonathan Barnes - Practice Manager
I filled in for holiday cover in 2004 and haven't left! I didn't choose Manor, it chose me! Dad (Mr Barnes) asked if I could help out 11 years ago and the rest is history! My areas of interest include customer services, client care and problem solving. There is alot of variety in the job, every day is different. at home I have a rescued hamster called Pumpkin and a tortoise called Chloe. I also have a 8 year old son who keeps me busy! Outside of work my hobbies include surfing, snowboarding, sports and travelling.
Monica Gear - Veterinary receptionist
I was a secretary for 18 years at a large local removal company and wanted a change. I have always loved animals so applied for a receptionist position. I chose Manor because of the friendly atmosphere. I particularly enjoy greeting and chatting to our lovely clients. I used to have 2 persians and a westie, now I have a naughty Barraband Parakeet called Mr Busy (Busy boy) and two budgies called Vic and Bob! At home I enjoy gardening, walking and seeing my family and friends when possible.
Janice McStea - Veterinary receptionist
After 15 years working in insurance I was made redundant and decided it was time for a change of direction - I had always loved animals so this job appealed. I was already a client and was impressed by the professionalism and compassion I had witnessed. My areas of interest include rodents, client interaction, maintaining our memory book, raising money for charity and helping Jane manage our facebook page. At home I have a hamster called Hamley. My hobbies include reading, gardening, baking, sewing, cardmaking, sugarcraft and scrapbooking. In my spare time I enjoy visiting national trust properties and gardens.
Marian Hines - Practice Manager
I joined Manor in 1977 when a vacancy became available for a secretary! In those days Mr Barnes was a young man - and I still work for him now! I think it says more about him as a boss, than me as an employee. I love numbers, everyone thinks i'm a bit sad until they want a problem solved. At home I have a cat called Ruby, I love her to bits, she's such good fun. I also have two ponds with fish that I enjoy watching and counting - back to numbers again! If I wasn't working here I would of liked to be teaching in a primary school. In my spare time I enjoy dancing - ballroom, latin and salsa. I also love baking, knitting, sewing and spending time with my grandchildren - they make everything worthwhile.
Rebecca Tozer - Veterinary receptionist
I worked for Manor a long time ago, left and was asked to come back! I always wanted to come back as I love the interaction with clients and their animals. At home I have two cats called Tallulah Fluff and Teasle, two dogs called Mr Wilson and Mr Watson and a Pony called Wilo. If I wasn't working at Manor I would probably be working with horses somewhere I think. In my spare time I enjoy reading, walking the dogs, riding and gardening. As you can tell i'm getting old!!!
Rachel Farren - Veterinary receptionist
Toni Marsh - Veterinary receptionist
Mr Barnes and the team at Manor have looked after my pets for 30 years. I have always been happy with the service, so when a job became available at the practice it was a natural choice. I spend my time split between reception work and office work, completing insurance forms and sending out reminders! I am very interest in the wildlife care aspect of the job and enjoy seeing wild animals recouperated and released. At home I have two rabbits, Berry and Dobby, a dog called Dudley and a cat called Murphy. If I wasnt working at Manor I would love to be working abroad (somewhere hot!) doing conservation work or in an animal sanctuary closer to home. In my spare time I enjoy playing hockey, climbing/hiking, arts and crafts and spending time with my two children.
